Stepping into the New Year

It’s that time again. The time of year where gym memberships spike, intentions and resolutions are set, and dreams are discussed.

The New Year is often a time of renewal. A time to hit the reset button, to shift directions, to recommit to goals—both old and new, and to shift your internal compass so that you are navigating towards what it is you desire.

We’ve talked about goals on this blog many times before, (in fact, here’s our New Year’s post from last year), so instead of rehashing those same bits of advice and encouragement, we’d like to talk about something different.

Instead of thinking about what you want to DO and HAVE in 2013, let’s step into something else—who do you want to BE?

Similar to making goals for yourself about tangible accomplishments and goals, what about asking yourself who do you want to be this year? What kind of person do you want to be? What kind of leader, parent, employee, community participant?

Stepping into the new year with a mindset of who you are BEING can help you create what it is you want to accomplish. Without being intentional about the kind of person you are and want to be, are you really satisfied with the direction that your life take?

Take a look at 2013 with a new perspective on YOU.

Ask yourself:

  • Who do I need to BE in order to achieve my goals?
  • Who do I need to BE to create success for myself?
  • Who do I need to BE in order to find happiness?

What type of person are and who will you be this year? Use this fresh start to step into something new.
